Langurs

Langurs are part of the monkey family and you can tell this because they have a long tail. Their tails help them to balance when they are climbing, and they do not actually swing using their tails. Their natural habitat is in limestone hills and mountains. They only eat leaves, not even fruit and definitely not any living things. In the wild they live in big groups.

The langurs at the rescue centre are easy to release into the wild once they have been looked after a bit. This is because they do not need to rely on humans to get their food as there are leaves available everywhere in rural Vietnam. The centre already has four different species of gibbon living in the semi wild (a very large fenced area where they need to survive independently without humans) who are close to being released back into the wild completely.
